For the past year, the Villa Gallici, a Relais & Châteaux luxury hotel in Aix-en-Provence, has been offering Phyltres beauty shots to guests visiting its spa. These rose-based French elixirs, gracefully featured on the Out spa treatment menu, conclude each ritual beautifully, as explained by spa manager Camille Sahuguet.

Spa manager for 6 years at Villa Gallici, Camille Sahuguet marvels every day at her city and workplace. Overlooking Aix-en-Provence, just a 5-minute walk from the city center, this 5-star hotel and spa is nestled in an oasis of greenery and in a rose garden planted at the beginning of the century. “After completing my BTS in Aesthetics and gaining experience in luxury hospitality in Geneva and Méribel, I chose to settle in this artistic city and applied to Villa Gallici. I was selected,” she says with a smile.

In this 18th-century Florentine palace, roses are everywhere: on the gourmet restaurant’s tableware, on the fabrics and tapestries of the baroque rooms, in the garden… and in the spa with Phyltres shots. A tribute to beauty and to a timelessly beloved flower.

Our spa mainly welcomes, in high season, Villa Gallici guests, international travelers and Provence lovers.” While mostly feminine and mature, the clientele increasingly includes men and younger guests.

Extending the ritual from within

Compared to their elders, younger clients are more concerned about their skin and wellbeing. From the age of 20, skin begins to age. Proactive and clearly focused on prevention, these guests keep a close eye on techniques and products that help maintain their youth capital. “The Phyltres shots, complementary to the three Carita treatments on our spa menu, enhance the overall experience,” Camille continues. “Even though they can be stored at room temperature, we keep them chilled and offer them at the end of the treatment, as the guest awakens. The active ingredients of the organic, hand-cultivated rose, combined with other natural ingredients, make it a highly effective elixir to complete the treatment and extend it from within, with a refreshing and flavorful approach.”

The American clientele, very sensitive to 100% vegan, preservative-free, additive-free, Made in France products, adores this post-treatment experience. So amazing! But they are not the only ones… Regional clients who visit the spa mostly during the low season love it as well. “I receive nothing but compliments.” Some guests even keep the 50 ml bottle “as a souvenir of their wellbeing escape and of the incredible amount of work behind a Soif de calme, jeunesse or éclat.”

The Villa Gallici, whose identity is deeply intertwined with the rose, has clearly made the most of these beauty shots within its wellness rituals. From arrival to departure, guests enjoy a personalized and intimate stay in an enchanting and romantic setting where French elegance and serenity shine. Laurent Mounet, the
general manager for 15 years, and his entire team embody this spirit masterfully.
